Piers Haskard's photography expresses his vision of Australia's stunning coast and the iconic lifestyle by the sea. On a single breath, Piers free dives into the foreign landscape of the underwater world to create his works. With 6 years of experience and an ever growing fascination in photography, Piers strives to capture the movement and energy of underwater landscapes. He explores elements including the formation of water and light, an infinite colour palate and the untouched void below a breaking wave. Influenced by a lifetime in the ocean, his work embodies the raw beauty of nature and prompts his audience to see and experience the ocean from a new perspective.
Based in Manly, Sydney, Piers travels locally within the Northern Beaches and along the Australian coast to find and document new experiences above and below the surface. Recently graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Art (Photography) at UNSW, Piers has also worked internationally and locally as a freelance commercial photographer (contact for enquiries).

The Ocean is Piers’ main focus. Photos you find here are Piers’ favourite shots that showcase underwater wave formations, searching for those perfect waves, and sea life. There is always so much happening under the surface that is usually hidden and Piers strives to capture these unique moments.
Life on the Coast is a series of works that portray day to day life in and around the Ocean. Chasing surfers and beach goers, Piers wants to show off what Australia’s coast has to offer. Busy summer beach days, ocean pools and surfers catching those dream waves are some of the main inspirations to this series.
With a fascination of wild landscapes from Australian coastal headlands to Irish mountains, Piers has more recently found a passion in landscape photography. He hopes to travel the world not only to find and document waves but also to explore everything that lies between coasts.
Piers has begun to explore new angles and new heights, and aerial photography is the perfect way to do so. Flying over some of Sydney’s favourite beach locations, the Aerial category shows off some of the city's hidden gems.
